Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martínez has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be unable to join Argentina for their upcoming fixtures.
Despite being called up to Lionel Scaloni’s squad, the Martínez returned a positive test ahead of flying from Italy to Spain to take a flight to Argentina. However, it is unclear whether he has shown any symptoms and what effect it will have on his fitness.
The Nerazzurri attacker will now self-isolate, and he will need to return a negative test to return to action. He will hope to be available for Inter’s crucial trip to Turin to face Juventus on April 4th.
This season, the 24-year-old has scored 14 goals in 27 appearances despite finding the back of the net just 3 times in his last 11 league games.
