AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli is inching closer to joining Lazio on a free transfer this summer.
Calciomercato.com reports that an agreement between Romagnoli and the Biancocelesti is becoming more likely as Milan are holding out out on their €2.8 million per season offer. The 27-year-old has never hidden his love for Lazio, whom he has supported since he was a child, is ready to say yes to their offer.
The Rome-based outfit have offered Milan’s captain a five-year contract worth €3.2 million per season. The only details missing are the commissions to his agent Mino Raiola and the player’s final approval.
Since joining on from Roma in 2015, Romagnoli has made 246 appearances, scoring 10 goals in the process. He is one of the longest-serving players in the Rossoneri squad, but he looks set to end his seven-year tenure in Milan this June.
