It seems like the acquisitions of Tammy Abraham and Sergio Oliviera this season were solely small pieces of the overall master-plan as Mourinho is determined to sign the Valencia star Gonçalo Guedes.

So far this season, the Portuguese international has been in sizzling-hot form as he managed to score 13 goals and provide five assists in 16 games played across all competitions for the La Liga side. Since arriving from PSG in 2018 for a hefty €40M price-tag, the wide-play maker has established himself as a key-player at the club.

As it stands, the 25 year-old winger’s contract with Valencia is set to expire in the summer of 2023. As a result, according to Tuttomercato, Mourinho is eager to submit a bid around the region of €45M in order to lure the well-documented attacker to the Stadio Olimpico next season, with the hopes that Valencia will be willing to cash in on one of their most valuable players in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

Within the Portuguese tactician’s current squad, the Giallorossi are currently short of options out-wide on the flanks. With the future of Nicolò Zaniolo filled with uncertainty, along with Stephan El Shaarawy and Felix Afena-Gyan failing to provide on a consistent basis, Mourinho is set to acquire a reliable asset within the attacking phase of the pitch that can play a fundamental role in next year’s campaign for his Roma side.

Furthermore, the gaffer is also considering adding the Roma exile Carles Perez into the deal as a way of saving funds as the 24 year-old winger has failed to impress since the arrival of the “Special One”.

The Spaniard only managed to make the starting eleven once within his 13 league appearances. Despite his very few chances, the supposedly promising winger has failed to flourish as he only provided one assist across all competitions this season, causing him to not be considered within the Giallorossi’s plans next year’s campaign.
