Inter Milan are preparing a one-year contract extension for club caption and goalkeeper Samir Handanović, but the Slovenian is waiting for a two-year offer.

As per Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri will continue to negotiate with Handanović, but there is still some distance between both parties.

The 37-year-old’s contract will expire in June, and it is expected that his current €4 million net per season salary will be reduced in anticipation of the arrival of goalkeeper André Onana, who is expected to join the club on a free transfer this summer.

Handanović has made 41 appearances this season, keeping 18 clean sheets in the process.
