Milan show no intentions of holding back within the upcoming transfer window as they have emerged into pole position to sign the Lille maestro Renato Sanches.

As it stands, the Portuguese international’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2023. With the 24 year-old pushing towards an exit in order to seek Champions League football, the Ligue 1 giants will seemingly be left with no choice but to sell Sanches in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

Since January, the Rossonerri have showed an immense desire to acquire the holding midfielder. Following the collapse of their initial transfer offer in January, Pioli’s side have rekindled their interest and have tipped as the favourites to sign the promising midfielder.

According to Milan News, the Milanese club have made contacts with Sanches’ entourage and are prepared to submit an opening bid between €13M-€18M.

So far this season, the midfield ace has played a pivotal role within the central area of the pitch as he tallied two goals and five assists in 24 Ligue 1 appearances.

With Frank Kessié set to join Barcelona at the end of this year`s current campaign on a pre-contract negotiation, the club officials strongly believe that Sanches is the perfect successor as the box-to-box midfielder possesses an immaculate passing ability and a magnificent defensive work-rate.
