After selling their star centre-back Matthijs De Ligt to Bayern Munich for a fee of €70m, Juventus responded swiftly as they are now set to secure the signing of Gleison Bremer from Torino as the 23 year-old’s successor.
For many months throughout the post-season, it seemed that Inter were in pole-position in signing the Brazilian pillar as they have reached a personal agreement with the promising defender back in January. However, their €30m transfer fee plus the Nerazzurri youth product Cesare Casadei was not enough to compete with the Old Lady.
According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, the Bianconeri have seized Bremer from their cross-town rivals for a hefty fee of €40m. The South-American shot-stopper has agreed on a five year-deal worth €5m in order to confirm his arrival to the Allianz.
Following his spectacular season last year where he was nominated as the best defensive player of the year within the Serie A, Allegri is extremely confident that the Brazilian defender will find his stride in the back-line alongside the well-documented centre-back Leonardo Bonucci.
