Despite Renato Sanches being at the top of the Rossonerri’s priority list this summer, Milan have lost the race for the Portuguese holding midfielder as the Lille star completes his move to PSG.
Since joining the Ligue 1 side in 2019, the promising central midfielder has prospered and rejuvenated himself, following his horrendous spell at Bayern Munich. Sanches has established himself as a staple within the squad as he made a total of 67 appearances across all competitions, helping the club clinch the league title in 2021.
According to reports via Fabrizio Romano, Lille have accepted a hefty transfer offer of €15m from their bitter rivals and the 24 year-old is currently on his way to Paris to complete his required medicals.
With Milan failing to sign the Portuguese midfielder, whom they viewed as their ideal successor for Franck Kessie as he left for Barcelona as a free agent in the beginning of the summer, the club is forced to look elsewhere in order to fill the significant void within their squad.
